Hope is trusting God for future events. It is a revelation of what our life will be like in eternity. Hope it is not wishful thinking, it is future certainty. While you are believing for the future things that are coming, it will give you joy and peace here and now.
In order for this to come alive in you a supernatural dimension of the Holy Spirit is necessary. Pray that that you would abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Faith is for the present tense while Hope is trusting God future tense.
Jesus, trusting God the Father, received the joy and peace of Hope that gave Him the strength to be able to endure the cross. Studying Hope can get you through the difficulties of this life.
In many Bible verses are promises of future events. Believe that they will indeed come to pass. Looking forward to them will help keep your eyes focused on Jesus.
Trusting God gives you a totally different perspective of your whole life. Actually Hope will determine how you look at every aspect of your life, what you spend your time on, how you spend your money, how you look at other people. It will have an effect on the whole direction of your life and can bring you into Gods' will.
When You See Eternity
The things of earth really become quite small when you see eternity. Someone could even steal your money and if you know this place we are in now is only a moment, it will cause you to react differently then nature dictates. It empowers you to do Gods' will.
You will find yourself praying for your enemies knowing what they did to you will cause them to loose eternal life! No matter how much money they could steal, it would a tragedy that they would sell their soul -so cheap. You will be able to look at your enemies differently and pray that God will have mercy on their soul.
For you, Hope and trusting God is knowing that you are going to live forever in substantial victory in blessings and prosperity but your enemy will loose it all for what? Money? The streets of heaven are paved with pure gold ...so... your enemy trades their eternal lifefor pavement! That's a tragedy!
Hope enables you to truly pray for your enemies earnestly that they will receive repentance before it's to late.
Hope will also give you great comfort when a loved one dies. Honestly I don't know how anyone can go through loosing a loved one without hope. But if you are trusting God for future events then you can know that death is only a short separation and then the sting of death will loose it's power.
All will be restored soon. A human life time is so short compared to eternity.
Even for a weary old body that is trusting God with hope could say very honestly that old age is just a temporary condition. Soon we will all have new bodies free of any imperfections.
For we are trusting God as these Bible verses reveal.
1 Cor 15:51-55 “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed — in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O Death, where is your sting?”NKJV
Phil 3:18-21 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame — who set their mind on earthly things.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. NKJV
Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. NKJV Trusting God the Holy Spirit to do it by His Power.
Trusting God Cultivating Hope
1 Cor 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. NKJV
Faith, hope and love must be alive in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit if we are to live godly lives. Many believers have a basic understanding of the need for faith and love, but do not spend time intentionally cultivating the subject of hope.
Far from optional, hope for our future is essential to our spiritual wellness.
3 John 2-3 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. NKJV
