God Help meI Give UpGod help me, I give up! ... Are you ready to fall on God with all that is within you? Do you feel like saying, “I can't , I can't do it. I give up!” You have tried and it seems like the harder you try the harder you fall. You feel like you have miserably failed to walk the Christian walk. No matter how hard you try you still can not find victory over the sin nature that is in you. One dimension of wellness is your spirit or spiritual wellness. Another dimension of wellness is your soul or emotional wellness. Understanding what you are about to read will minister to both. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18-19NKJV When you received Jesus as your Savior you said in essence, “God help me, save me Lord I can not save myself.” A true conversion begins to show itself as you see the evidence of a changed life. You find yourself despising your own old behavior. Things you did before you don't want to do any more. It was so easy at first, you delighted in doing things that please God. But as time passes, subtly things can begin to change.
Many times one of two things happen;
You may go through a series of guilt and sham. And feel the finger of the accuser pointing at you calling you a hypocrite. But you really do love God your not a hypocrite! From deep inside, you want to do good and please God. God doesn't show you your sin so you only feel guilty about it. He shows you so you can see the need that you have for Him. Pray, God Help me to understand the Gospel. Gospel means “good news” and there is very good news for you.
To walk the walk of a Christian is not for the coward. It takes courage to die to self and live unto God, But it's not your courage! It took a hero to make it possible. But your not the hero. It took a King to make us part of a kingdom. It is not about you at all. It is all about Christ and Him crucified. It is all about the victory that Jesus won on the Cross - Nothing added. Therein is the Victory and nothing else will do. If you can grasp this fully you will understand how perfectly God has answered the prayer," God Help Me" Jesus relied on His Father for everything when he was in the flesh. We must follow in His foot steps. Jesus died to Himself and lived unto the Father paving the way for our victory. If only we could learn how by His example. Jesus said, “ follow me”, so we must do as He did. Relying on God and God alone and not our own abilities will bring victory in our life. We will fail if we attempt to keep the letter of the law. Jesus only did what He saw the Father do and by doing that He paved the way for us. We can not win the battle over the law of sin and death (our sin nature) when we try to win it with the law of our mind. The will to do good is within us but how to preform it is not in us. If we would only rely on God and not our own strength in every thing we do we would be victorious over what ever problem we face. Enter His rest. Rest in His finished work. Humans can ReproduceOnly Human LifeHumans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. You have been trying to do something that you were never meant to do. “God Help me” must become the constant cry of your heart. It is God who works it in us to do good. Jesus said there is no one who is good but God. It's not you who do it but He who is in you is the one who does it. The Law of God is good but it only serves to show you where you have failed. The Laws purpose is to point you to Jesus to be saved. You can not keep the law in your flesh. If you try to do “good works” in the flesh, they are nothing but wood hay and stubble. If it is not done in the Spirit it is not pleasing to God. The only hope we have is to fall on the grace of God and by His mercy learn how to walk after the Spirit. His Grace is sufficient for you. In other words, His Grace is all you need for the victory!
Moses lifted up a serpent on a pole which symbolized Jesus our sin bearer being lifted up on the cross. All the people had to do is look at it (keep your eyes on Jesus)and they were healed of their deadly snake bite. To gain the victory over your sin you only need to look at, really see what Jesus did for you by His Life as well as His death on the Cross. He is your victory. It is He, who saves us From our sin. Matthew 1:21 He is the only answer needed to the prayer, God Help me If you get your eyes on yourself, your abilities, or anything else that you think will help you, then you will begin to fall. It doesn't take a lot of faith to simply believe God. Just a little faith the size of a mustard seed will do. And God helps you even with that, for every man has the measure of faith. Put your trust back in God and not in your own abilities to over come your sin nature. Like Peter walking on the water. As long as Peter had his eyes on Jesus, Peter could walk on water! (Have victory over the sin nature) But when Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the circumstances around him, Peter began to sink. What did Peter do then? Peter called on Jesus to save him. God Help me..., This is the Victory call! With a willing and humble heart you will really hear the Gospel of the Cross of Christ. Come back to the place of victory where you said, “God Help Me save me for I cannot save myself.” That is when God can finally move in your life. He has waited for you to come full circle Coming of age to maturity is a continual growing process. No longer do you talk like a child saying, “me do it myself”, but rather you learn from the Master to walk the path that Jesus walked. Follow Him to victory by surrendering to God completely. If you walk by the Spirit, you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16 Your prayer,... "God Help Me "Brought you to this PlaceYou needed to come to this place where you can only say, "God Help me." So now you will be ready for what God has for you. Miracles can happen when you keep your eyes on Jesus.Without God it is impossible to keep the law or have victory over your sin nature, walk on water or anything else. But WITH God All Things are possible. Keep your eyes on Jesus. This is the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
